Congratulations on your acceptance to the Penn Engineering Class of 2028! This letter carries a heartfelt welcome from everyone in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania.

There is no better time to become an engineer, and there is no better place for aspiring engineers than Penn Engineering. This fall, you will join a community of highly engaged individuals who are determined to positively impact large-scale challenges like energy, food security, climate change and health care, using modern engineering tools like AI, biotechnology and nanotechnology. Now more than ever, Penn Engineering needs your intelligence, empathy and passion for responsible innovation as we take on these challenges.

The Penn Admissions Office has told us much about you and the Class of 2028. As incredibly gifted students, we know that your academic achievements and leadership qualities will take Penn Engineering to even greater levels of prominence and excellence. It is clear from your application that you are exceptional and a perfect fit for our School.

At Penn Engineering, we learn by doing. Our undergraduates have ample opportunities to conduct hands-on research at the bench, network with highly successful entrepreneurs, and put their skills to use to impact the community through service-learning projects. The quality of your education is paramount, and our caring and enthusiastic faculty excel at teaching the fundamentals of the engineering disciplines you are about to enter, and will also serve as mentors and guides as you decide how to best apply that knowledge.

Our campus is expanding, and you will be some of the first students to enter our three new buildings that will house leading-edge laboratories and state-of-the-art technologies in data science, precision engineering for health, and energy and sustainability research.
